Two steps to bliss — steep the botanicals, dissolve the powders, and sink into a dreamy blue-white bath that softens skin and restores the senses.

Ananda. Sanskrit for bliss. That's where this takes you.

Not just a bath. A ritual.

Ananda Bath Tea + Soak is a two-part sensorial experience rooted in ancient Ayurvedic bathing traditions, the kind that understood, long before wellness became an industry, that water is medicine when you know what to add to it.

It arrives in two sachets, each with a distinct purpose. The first holds the botanicals, herbs, and spices: cardamom, rose, vetiver, fennel, calendula, butterfly pea, and centella, meant to be steeped like a tea, bloomed in boiling water until the pot turns deep indigo and the whole room fills with their fragrance. The second holds the powder blend: colloidal oat, magnesium sulphate, kaolin clay, coconut milk, and arrowroot, poured directly into the tub to turn the water soft, silky, and milky.

When the two meet in the bath, something quietly extraordinary happens. The water shifts. The scent deepens. And the space you're standing in becomes, for fifteen to twenty minutes, entirely yours.

No artificial fragrance. No essential oils. No foaming agents. Just honest, high-quality ingredients, and room to simply be.

What's Inside & Why It Matters

INCI Ingredient List:
Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel, Magnesium Sulfate, Kaolin Clay, Maranta Arundinacea (Arrowroot) Powder, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Milk Powder (Organic), Elettaria Cardamomum (Cardamom) Seed, Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Seed, Vetiveria Zizanioides (Vetiver) Root, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Petal (Organic), Calendula Officinalis Flower (Organic), Clitoria Ternatea (Butterfly Pea) Flower, Centella Asiatica Herb (Organic)

Colloidal Oat (Avena Sativa)
Finely milled oats suspended in water have been clinically proven to relieve dry, itchy, and irritated skin, so well established that colloidal oatmeal is an FDA-recognized skin protectant. Its beta-glucans form a soothing film over the skin that locks in moisture and calms inflammation. In Ayurveda, oats are considered grounding and nourishing for Vata:  ideal for dry, anxious, or depleted states. And in grandmother's kitchen? A warm oat bath was the first answer to everything from sunburn to eczema, long before a doctor suggested it.

Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salt)
The backbone of any serious soak. Magnesium is a mineral most of us are chronically deficient in, and the skin is a surprisingly effective absorption pathway. Soaking in magnesium sulphate has been traditionally used to ease tense muscles, support relaxation, and reduce puffiness. In Ayurveda, therapeutic bathing (Avagaha Sweda) using mineral-rich water is a recognized treatment for calming the nervous system and restoring balance. Your grandmother called it a salt bath. She wasn't wrong.

Kaolin Clay
The gentlest of the cosmetic clays. Kaolin softly draws impurities and excess oils from the skin without stripping its natural moisture, making it ideal for sensitive, reactive, and dry skin types. In Ayurvedic formulations, clay (Mritika) is used for its drawing and purifying properties, particularly to cool Pitta and cleanse without aggravating. Fine enough for a baby's skin, effective enough for adults who've tried everything else.

Arrowroot Powder (Maranta Arundinacea)
A natural skin-softening agent that gives the bath water a silky quality and helps the other botanicals disperse evenly. It absorbs excess moisture on the skin's surface, leaving a smooth, non-sticky finish post-soak. Ayurvedic texts reference arrowroot for its cooling, soothing properties, and grandmothers across South Asia and the Caribbean used it as a body powder and skin soother long before it landed in upscale beauty products.

Organic Coconut Milk Powder (Cocos Nucifera)
The ingredient that turns this bath milky, soft, and utterly indulgent. Rich in fatty acids and natural emollients, coconut milk has been used in South and Southeast Asian bathing rituals for centuries, both for its skin-softening properties and its deeply comforting, grounding quality. Modern cosmetic science confirms what tradition always knew: fatty acids in coconut milk strengthen the skin's lipid barrier and improve hydration. Cleopatra had her milk bath. Yours comes with better botanicals.

Cardamom (Elettaria Cardamomum / Ela)
One of Ayurveda's most beloved aromatic spices, and far more than a chai ingredient. Cardamom is warming, stimulating, and deeply clarifying to the senses. Its volatile compounds are naturally antimicrobial and antioxidant, and its scent is clinically associated with uplifting mood and reducing mental fatigue. In Ayurveda, cardamom pacifies Kapha (heaviness, sluggishness) and Vata (anxiety, coldness) while gently stimulating circulation. In every South Asian kitchen, cardamom was cracked open for everything from digestive complaints to lifting the spirits, a spice that knew its job was both practical and deeply sensory.

Fennel (Foeniculum Vulgare / Shatapushpa)
Fennel's feathery seeds carry a mild, warm sweetness that complements cardamom beautifully in this blend. Rich in flavonoids and volatile oils, fennel has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties, and its aroma is calming and clarifying. In Ayurveda, fennel is a tridoshic herb, balancing for all constitutions, used to support digestion, reduce bloating, and calm the nervous system. In grandmother's kitchen, fennel seeds were chewed after meals, brewed into tea for cramps, and used in gentle skin preparations for their cooling, soothing effect.

Vetiver (Vetiveria Zizanioides / Khus)
The quiet anchor of this blend. Vetiver root has one of the deepest, most grounding aromas in the botanical world — earthy, smoky, and profoundly calming. Used for centuries in South Asian perfumery and Ayurvedic medicine, vetiver is considered cooling and stabilizing, particularly effective for calming an overheated mind or an anxious nervous system. Modern aromatherapy research supports its use for reducing stress and anxiety. In northern India, vetiver root mats were used to cool homes and perfume water in summer, nature's original aromatherapy diffuser.

Organic Rose (Rosa Damascena)
Rose is the heart of Ananda, in every sense. Damask rose petals bring potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties alongside proven skin-hydrating effects. In Ayurveda, rose is deeply associated with the heart chakra, with love, and with the cooling of Pitta,  emotions, inflammation, and heat alike. Rose water has been a staple in South Asian, Persian, and Middle Eastern beauty traditions for thousands of years. Your grandmother kept it in a small glass bottle. You'll find it here, doing what it has always done.

Organic Calendula (Calendula Officinalis)
Gentle enough for newborns, effective enough for adult skin that's dry, inflamed, or compromised. Calendula's clinically documented anti-inflammatory and skin-regenerating properties make it a beloved ingredient in both dermatological research and traditional herbalism worldwide. In an Ayurvedic bath, it soothes Pitta and supports skin that's stressed, reactive, or simply in need of kindness.

Butterfly Pea Flower (Clitoria Ternatea)
The colour magic behind Ananda's signature blue transformation. Butterfly pea flower is naturally rich in anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants that give it its vivid indigo hue. As it meets the minerals and botanicals in the bath, the water shifts from blue to soft milky lavender-white: an entirely natural colour change, no dyes involved. Used in Southeast Asian and Ayurvedic traditions as a cognitive tonic, antioxidant, and beauty herb, butterfly pea flower has also gained significant attention in modern cosmetic science for its ability to neutralize free radicals and support skin health.

Organic Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola)
One of Ayurveda's most revered Medhya Rasayana: herbs that nourish the mind and nervous system. Modern dermatology has fully adopted Centella asiatica (now a K-beauty staple) for its clinically proven ability to stimulate collagen production, support wound healing, and repair a compromised skin barrier. In this bath soak, it works quietly to calm and restore while you do the same.

How to use:

It is recommended that you shower before soaking.

Step 1 — Bloom + Pour
Transfer the botanical and spice blend from the first sachet into the muslin bag provided. Steep it in a pot of boiling water for 3–5 minutes; this allows the botanicals to fully bloom and release their colour, fragrance, and therapeutic compounds into the water. Watch the water turn deep indigo. Pour the infusion, muslin bag, and all into your bath.

Step 2 — Transform + Soak
Add the powder blend from the second sachet directly into the bath water, stirring or swishing to dissolve completely. As the two meet, the water will shift from blue to a soft, cloudy blue-white. Immerse yourself. Gently squeeze the muslin bag periodically throughout your soak to continue releasing the botanicals. Unwind for 15–20 minutes.

For an enhanced Ayurvedic ritual: dim the lights, put on your favourite relaxation playlist, and give yourself permission to do absolutely nothing else.
