Deep moisture, calm skin, and nothing it doesn't need. The body butter sensitive skin has been looking for.

For skin that needs kindness above everything else.

Some skin doesn't want to be challenged. It doesn't want fragrance, actives, or an ingredient list that reads like an experiment. It wants to be fed, calmed, and left alone to simply heal.

Bayu Chamomile Body Butter was made for exactly that skin.

This is a deliberately simple formula. Four thoughtfully chosen organic ingredients, no essential oils, no synthetic fragrance, no unnecessary anything. Just deep, lasting nourishment anchored by one of the most gentle and effective healing botanicals in the world: chamomile.

The scent is soft and natural, a faint, warm whisper of chamomile flowers, the kind that smells like something your body already recognizes as safe. Nothing added to create it. It simply is what it is.

Handmade in Canada in small batches.

What's Inside & Why It Matters

INCI Ingredient List:
Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil* (Infused with Matricaria Chamomilla Flower), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil*, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

*Certified Organic

Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Infused with Chamomile Flowers (Cocos Nucifera / Matricaria Chamomilla)

This is the heart of the formula. Coconut oil on its own is already a deeply nourishing, clinically validated moisturizer. Rich in lauric acid, it penetrates the skin barrier rather than sitting on top of it, supporting natural moisture retention and offering gentle antimicrobial protection. In Ayurveda, coconut oil (Narikela Taila) is the foundational oil for abhyanga, the daily self-massage ritual used to nourish the body, calm the nervous system, and balance Vata, the dosha most associated with dryness, anxiety, and depletion. In grandmother's kitchen, it was the universal answer to rough elbows, cracked heels, and any skin that needed help.

But this coconut oil is slow-infused with chamomile flowers (Matricaria chamomilla), and that changes everything.

Chamomile is one of the most extensively studied medicinal plants in the world. Its active compounds, particularly alpha-bisabolol and apigenin, have been clinically shown to reduce inflammation, accelerate skin healing, soothe allergic reactions, and calm redness and irritation. In dermatological research, chamomile extract consistently outperforms many synthetic anti-inflammatory agents for sensitive and reactive skin conditions. It is one of the few botanicals gentle enough for newborn skin and effective enough to be used in clinical wound care.

In Ayurveda, chamomile (Babunah) is cooling and Pitta-pacifying, ideal for skin that runs hot, reactive, or inflamed. It is also considered deeply calming to the manas (mind), making it as much a nervine as a skin herb. In grandmothers' kitchens and medicine chests from Europe to South Asia, chamomile was the first thing brewed when someone was unwell, steeped into tea for upset stomachs and anxiety, or pressed into oil for irritated, inflamed skin. The instinct was sound then. The science confirms it now.

By infusing chamomile slowly into coconut oil, the therapeutic compounds of the flower are carried deep into the skin every time this butter is applied.

Organic Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii)
Cold-pressed from the nut of the African shea tree, shea butter is clinically recognized for its high concentration of triterpenes, which support collagen synthesis and reduce skin inflammation. It forms a protective, breathable layer over the skindee, ply moisturizing without clogging pores, and rich enough to provide lasting relief even for severely dry or flaking skin. For sensitive skin specifically, shea is one of the safest and most tolerated moisturizing agents available, non-comedogenic, rarely allergenic, and deeply effective.

In traditional West African communities, shea has been used for generations as a protective barrier for newborns, nursing mothers, and sun-exposed skin. The wisdom was simple: it works, it's safe, and it costs nothing to be gentle.

Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia Chinensis)
Technically a liquid wax rather than an oil, jojoba is uniquely structured to mimic the skin's own sebum, which is precisely why it is so exceptionally well-tolerated, even by the most reactive skin types. Its non-comedogenic, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties are well-supported by modern research, and its ability to balance the skin's surface without disrupting it makes it one of the most reliable ingredients in sensitive skin formulation.

In Ayurveda, jojoba falls among the oils that balance both Pitta (inflammation, heat) and Vata (dryness, depletion), a dual action that makes it particularly suited to skin that swings between reactive and parched. Think of it as the ingredient your skin recognizes as its own.

Vitamin E (Tocopherol)
A fat-soluble antioxidant that protects skin cells from oxidative damage, supports the natural healing process, and helps maintain the integrity and freshness of every plant-based oil in this formula, all without synthetic preservatives. For compromised or sensitive skin, vitamin E also supports barrier repair and reduces the appearance of scarring and uneven texture over time.

How to Use

Warm a small amount between your palms and massage into skin as needed — after bathing, before bed, or any time skin feels dry, tight, or irritated. A little goes a long way. For very dry or rough areas like elbows, knees, and heels, apply a slightly more generous amount and allow to absorb fully.

Safe for daily use. Suitable for adults and children. Patch test recommended for highly reactive skin.
